Viagra Sildenafil is the most prescribed treatment for erectile dysfunction
Viagra is the first treatment to help men fight erectile dysfunction. Discovered in 1998 and developed by Pfizer, medical studies have shown that the pill for impotence has successfully helped over 80% of men with erectile dysfunction. More than a decade after its discovery, Viagra has helped millions of people find a fulfilling sex life.
What is Viagra Sildenafil?
Table of Contents
- Active in 30 minutes
- The effect lasts up to 5 hours
- Available in doses of 25mg, 50mg and 100mg
- The most popular treatment for erectile dysfunction
Viagra is the first prescription medicine dealing with erectile dysfunction disorders. Treatment was launched in the US market in 1998 by Pfizer Laboratories. The blue pill belongs to a class of PDE-5 inhibitor drugs. For over 15 years, the drug has helped millions of men around the world to fight against erectile dysfunction.
What is the active ingredient?
The blue pill’s active ingredient is Sildenafil. The active ingredient Sildenafil inhibits the phosphodiesterase-5 enzyme (PDE-5), which is responsible for erectile reduction. By blocking the enzyme, blood supply is improved in the erectile tissue.
Sildenafil’s effects are usually obtained 30 minutes after taking the drug and last up to four hours. The treatment helps both men who have difficulty getting an erection and also those who have difficulty maintaining an erection.
Viagra Online: Sildenafil is made of the following excipients
polyvinyl alcohol | magnesium stearate |
calcium hydrogen phosphate | croscarmellose sodium |
Red Allura AC | titanium oxide |
microcrystalline cellulose | iron oxide |
Talc | Macrogol 4000 |
Indigotine | Opadry II blue |
Millions of people in UK and in Europe are affected by erectile dysfunction
What are the different dosages of Sildenafil?
Viagra is available in three different doses:
- Sildenafil 25mg: The lower dose on the market. This is recommended for men taking the drug for the first time. This dose is also generally prescribed to men over 65 years. The low dosage limits the possible side effects.
- Sildenafil 50mg: If the 25mg dose does not give you the desired results, the doctor can prescribe a higher dose according to your health condition.
- Sildenafil 100mg: the largest dose of Viagra. This dosage is only recommended for people in excellent health.
Although three different dosages are available, it is recommended that men discovering Viagra take the lowest dose. With a doctor’s approval, the dosage may subsequently be increased. According to different criteria, such as the man’s stature and his weight, a higher dose may be prescribed. The higher the dose, the higher the risk of developing side effects. Only the doctor may decide to increase or reduce the dosage. If you want to increase your dose of Sildenafil, you must obtain permission from your doctor. The 100mg dose will only be prescribed to men in good health who are not suffering from any adverse effects from the lower doses.
According to clinical tests on different dosages of Viagra, we can see that the treatment efficiency rate is proportional to the dosage. And 82% of men taking this drug for impotence claim to have obtained a sufficient erection with a 100mg dosage, as opposed to 63% of men using a 25mg dosage.
The pill must be taken with a glass of water about 30 minutes before sexual activity.
Despite all the ideas we may have about impotence drugs and especially about Viagra, the effects act in the presence of sexual stimulation. There is no risk of getting an uncontrolled sexual erection, or to have an erection for 4 hours.
It is important to remember that alcohol or fatty foods may result in a reduction or negation of the effects of Viagra, and could also increase side effects.
How long does the blue pill last?
About 30 minutes after taking the pill, men feel the effects of the active ingredient, Sildenafil. The drug works for a period of 4 hours. This does not mean that the erection will last four hourS; this means that, for up to 4 hours, the pill will help the man to achieve or maintain an erection allowing him to have a satisfactory sexual activity.
How does the drug work?
Sildenafil is an active ingredient belonging to the group of PDE-5 inhibitors.
This ingredient also allows the blood vessels to relax and therefore have the effect of increasing blood flow to the penis. A firm erection will then continue to happen for 4 hours from being sexually stimulated.
Is Viagra actually effective?
Before being placed on the market, like any treatment prescription, Viagra has undergone numerous clinical tests in order to be approved. In the US as in Europe, the treatment was subject to numerous studies. One of the best known is the one that involved more than 8,000 patients in an age group of 19-87 years old.
In this study, they examined the effect of sildenafil on these different groups compared to the effect of a placebo. The results are conclusive: 62% of patients reported an improvement in their erectile function by taking Viagra Sildenafil 25mg, 74% for those taking the 50mg dose and 82% taking the highest dosage of 100mg. Conversely, only 25% of patients experienced an improvement in their erections after taking the placebo.
What are the side effects of Viagra?
Like all medicines subject to medical prescription, this drug is subject to various potential side effects. Although these are relatively rare, the effects will fade gradually when your body gets used to the treatment.
Viagra is the first treatment for erectile dysfunction. Discovered in 1998 by Pfizer, the drug underwent extensive testing before it went on sale in the US market and later on the European market.
Main side effects of Viagra
pain felt in the legs and back | an accentuated heartbeat |
rash appearing on the face | headaches |
digestive problems | nausea |
If after taking the treatment you suffer from priapism, i.e., an active erection for more than 4 hours without any sexual stimulation, you must see your doctor urgently without waiting, or go to the hospital. Priapism can, if untreated, lead to serious complications such as damage to the penis’ blood vessels and in extreme cases, gangrene.
Are there any contraindications?
The blue pill is not advised for men with allergies to the medicine’s integrated components. It is also not advised for men consuming nitrates, whatever the form. Men with hypertension, diabetes or even bad cholesterol may take Viagra, depending on the case, but it is highly recommended to talk to a doctor.
It is also not recommended to take Sildenafil-based drugs with grapefruit. Citrus actually has the effect of an increase in the treatment’s effects by increasing the Sildenafil dosage. Grapefruit will act on an enzyme called cytochrome P450 3A4 authorising the modification or elimination of drugs. Finally, the medication mixed with grapefruit may lead to an unintentional overdose.
Who can use the drug?
Viagra can only be used by men over 18 suffering from erectile dysfunction. Men have no problem getting or keeping an erection should indeed not use the blue pill.
Viagra should not be used as a recreational drug, as a prescription drug there are bound to be side effects and contraindications, so we strongly discourage you from trying it as a hobby.
Can Viagra treat the underlying causes of erectile dysfunction?
Although the blue pill cannot treat all the causes and problems of erectile dysfunctions, it can sometimes reveal important signs about your health. This is also why if you suffer from male impotence you need to perform regular health checks. It is thus important to do the following each year:
- a test of your blood pressure
- a blood glucose test for diabetes
- a blood lipid test to verify the level of cholesterol
- a blood test to measure your levels of prolactin and testosterone
Is there a risk of addiction?
Studies have shown that there is no possible addiction to Viagra or any other medicine to treat male impotence. In most situations, these drugs treat the symptoms of the disease but do not cure it. This means that without taking the treatment, symptoms reappear and you will experience the problem again.
The only situation that could lead to a situation of dependency is when Viagra is taken for psychological reasons. If you do not suffer from any physical problem which affects your erectile function, and you are taking the drug to reassure you about your sexual performance. In these cases, communicating with your partner is important, and the easiest solution is to space out taking the pill until you stop completely.
How do I buy Viagra online & in UK?
There are several different ways to get the most famous erectile dysfunction treatment. The first solution is to make an appointment with your doctor to explain your health problem.
Buy Viagra in a UK pharmacy
After a medical consultation, he may prescribe Viagra if your health condition allows. When you are in possession of the prescription, you can then go to the pharmacy to buy Viagra. Although this method is more conventional, it is sometimes difficult to talk about this kind of problem with your doctor or pharmacist. Some men may fear the gaze of others or they might simply encounter someone they know from the pharmacy. Indeed, discretion cannot be assured. It may even be difficult to make time to go to the doctor when your schedule is filled.
It is strongly unadvised to buy Viagra without medical advice
Buy Viagra online
The other possibility to solve this problem is to buy Viagra online. Today, in Europe, it is possible to order your prescription treatment on the Internet. Some online clinics allow their patients to undergo a medical consultation. This consultation is in the form of a questionnaire intended to verify that the patient’s condition allows to take a particular treatment. While the online consultation is relatively long, it allows the medical team to ensure that the medication will not cause significant side effects.
Once the controlled medical consultation is validated by a physician, the patient can buy Viagra online. According to the type of online clinic, treatment can be delivered in 24 hours throughout Europe.
Pfizer : One of the world’s premier biopharmaceutical companies
Established in 1849 by Sir Charles Pfizer in North America of the United States, the laboratory’s activity is specialised in the research, design and sale of pharmaceutical products. These drugs are, for the most part, designed for the general public.
Although the laboratories are known today for having created Viagra in 1998, the company has now developed into more than 150 countries and employs nearly 80 000 people globally.
What is the origin of Viagra?
Originally, almost 20 years ago, Pfizer sought a solution to treat angina. By discovering and testing the active ingredient, sildenafil, Pfizer quickly realised that the results they obtained were different from the results they expected. The most obvious side effect on patients was that Sildenafil caused an erection. The blue pill’s discovery was lucky serendipity. At the time, there was no treatment that allowed men to treat their erectile dysfunction. Pfizer patented their invention in 1996, and two years later, in 1998, Viagra was sold on the US market. After arriving on the European market a few years later, the drug is now used by millions of men.
How should Viagra be stored?
Like every drug, treatment should be kept in a place out of reach and sight of children. It is advisable to keep the medication in its original box and at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Finally, the drug should be kept out of humidity and consumed before the expiry date stated on the packaging.
What is the price of Viagra online & in UK?
The blue pill has many different prices. You will find higher or lower prices depending on where you buy the medicine.
Viagra Price: Buy in a UK pharmacy
If you buy Viagra in a pharmacy, it is priced between £20 and £35 for a box of 4 25mg pills. It is necessary to add the price of your doctor’s consultation to this cost.
Viagra Price: Buy Online
If you buy Viagra online, the prices will probably be higher than in pharmacies. However, there are numerous benefits.
Having the discretion of 24-hour delivery could even make you forget the higher price.
We also wish to advise you not to order the impotence drug from sites you do not trust, or which offer unrealistically low prices. Many sites attract the attention of customers with promotions such as “cheapest Viagra”, “cheap Viagra,” or “best price”. If this is the case, these treatments are not real but are counterfeits that can provide you with potentially dangerous side effects.
It is also important to remember that treatment against erectile dysfunction is not reimbursed by social security. Whatever the mode of purchase, whether in a pharmacy or online, patients will not be reimbursed for treatment.
The process of buying cheap Viagra or buying it with coupons, for example, is to be avoided. The brand version of Viagra (the drug originator), produced by Pfizer, has a production and marketing cost that ensures optimum control of its quality. This explains why selling cheap Viagra usually means that the tablets are fakes, or that the quality of the product is potentially at risk.
In addition, pharmacies offering free trials of Viagra to treat erectile dysfunction are illegal. So beware of any online pharmacy offering you free Viagra tablets.
If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the original Viagra, Pfizer and other large pharmaceutical companies market a generic version called Sildenafil (the name of its active ingredient). These two drugs, the former and the generic version, use exactly the same active ingredient and have the exact same effects on the body.
What is the difference between Viagra and Sildenafil?
The active ingredient of Viagra is Sildenafil. This ingredient is now available on the market as a generic version. Sildenafil works in exactly the same way as the original blue pill and is also available in 25mg, 50mg and 100mg doses. The efficacy, use, side effects and indications are also the same. Only the price is different. Doctors will issue you a prescription for the active molecule, i.e. Sildenafil. Once at the pharmacy, you can choose to buy generic Sildenafil, a significantly cheaper treatment, or Viagra, the original treatment from Pfizer.
What you need to know before buying Viagra online or in UK
Sildenafil is not a miracle treatment
If the doctor recommends you take erectile dysfunction medication after examining your condition, it means you have to take it every time you want to have sex. The drug does not cure impotence in the long term but treats it in the moment. If you want to cure the disease it will depend on your specific health condition, but in some cases you will need to change your lifestyle.
As indicated above, erectile dysfunction can be caused by numerous physical factors. Depending on your consumption habits, what you eat, and also what you drink and smoke, some men “premature” erectile dysfunction. If you change your lifestyle, if you eat a better, healthier, and more balanced diet, and you drink less alcohol and you stop smoking, you should be able to achieve a greater erectile capacity.
Taking the treatment is neither dramatic nor shameful
Going to the doctor to talk about your erectile problems or going to the pharmacy and asking for Viagra over the counter in front of other customers may be inconvenient for some patients. You should know that erectile dysfunction affects millions of men in UK and worldwide. For more hesitant men, you should know that your doctor is not only subject to professional secrecy, but above all he is accustomed to all diseases, and impotence is very common. On the other hand, if you are still afraid to meet people that you know in the pharmacy after having obtained a prescription, you can simply travel a few more kilometres to go a town where no knows you.
Are you ready to talk to your partner / spouse?
This is obviously not an obligation, but the act of talking to your partner about your erectile problems can often take a great weight off your shoulders. Communication within a couple is paramount in every respect. Once again, taking Viagra is not shameful.
Viagra is not the only drug for Erectile Dysfunction
Sildenafil is indeed the first prescription treatment to have been created, however, new drugs have entered the market since, including Cialis, Levitra, Spedra and Vitaros. Do not hesitate to ask your doctor which of these treatments best suits your body.
The opinion of AlfaDoc about Viagra Online
Viagra is the most famous treatment for erectile dysfunction. Developed nearly 20 years ago in the US, it is now used by millions of men worldwide.
- Is it really effective or is it a placebo?
- What is it worth today compared to new treatments available in the market?
- What are its side effects?
AlfaDoc surveyed a panel of French users and here are their main findings.
Firstly, the main reason the majority of Viagra users take the drug is its reputation, its image, and its history. The drug is known around the world. No one can question the drug or its potential effectiveness. It is effective, Viagra works, and it allows men to get or maintain a sufficient erection.
Although Viagra is a treatment subject to medical prescription, the majority of users have no fear using the treatment.
A drug that does its job
The first time round, patients are often curious and do not really know what to expect. The first use, therefore, comes with high expectations, and patients report that their hopes are achieved in almost all circumstances.
Warning, never take it in order to increase the duration or magnitude of your sexual performance. The blue pill is a real drug and it is authorised by the High Authority of Health.
On paper, the first effects appear 30 minutes after taking the drug and act for 4 hours. The surveyed users mostly agree with these facts. For some, the effects last for slightly less time than 4 hours, but this result needs to be qualified. Some of these users reported consuming a relatively rich meal before taking the drug.
The reference
Overall, the reviews of Viagra are very positive. Although there are now more effective treatments than Viagra, especially Cialis, the blue pill remains the area’s point of reference.
As for side effects, Viagra is rather delicate with its users. Side effects are fairly rare for a drug of this class.

Viagra is effective but very its biggest problem Is That we must take on average 30 minutes before intercourse. It’s not always easy to map relationships. No side effects, nothing to add.

I’m about 50, I’m healthy, I eat healthy, I workout often but sometimes I Have sexual problems with my wife. My doctor prescribed Viagra to help me, I am not taking it every time I admitted it is effective. Side side effects, are very light, I had a little trouble the first time but nothing, all is good.

I’ve taken Viagra for a really long time now and I’ve always got a few pills in my wallet, just in case! I don’t see taking medication as a hindrance at all, you just take it when you need it and voila. No physical or psychological side effects.

I’ve found this treatment very effective, and I manage to get a good erection every time I take Viagra. I don’t experience any side effects.

I take Viagra 50mg regularly and I have to take about 8 pills a month. I don’t take a pill every time I have sex as I’m trying to change my lifestyle a bit and eat healthier. I’m also doing more sport now so hopefully I’ll manage to get better erections and not have to buy Viagra any more. Thoughts about the pill are positive but I’m worried about becoming dependent.

My doctor has been prescribing me viagra for years and I have no doubts that it really works – you can’t deny that it’s effective. The only thing that bothers me is that it doesn’t work for very long and sex feels too planned. You have to plan around an hour ahead before having sex so it doesn’t feel as real. I’m currently looking for an alternative, so any suggestions are welcome.

I had a heart attack just over three years ago and since then I have had problems getting an erection. I can sometimes get one during foreplay but I struggle to keep it during penetration and it gets soft. I’m over 60 years old and I hope to stay sexually active for years to come. My wife is 15 years younger than me so I had to find a way to keep her satisfied and it was actually her who encouraged me to go talk to a doctor. He prescribed me viagra 50mg and said that I should start by taking one pill on an empty stomach, before eating. I would then have to wait at least half an hour before I would see any effects. I tried it and I’m very satisfied (and so is my wife) so it really works.

I’ve used viagra for months and it’s a great treatment. I have problems maintaining an erection – even though I can get one pretty quickly, as soon as I start having sex with my partner I lose it for some reason. I can’t manage to keep it no matter what my partner and I are doing. My doctor prescribed me viagra so I gave it a go. It worked the first time I took a pill and it’s really effective. I had a slight headache and some tingling sensations but I only experienced good effects the second time round. I now get a good long-lasting erection.

Viagra is effective and there’s no doubt that it works. It has a positive effect and I manage to get an erection for about 4 to 5 hours every time I have sex. The only problem is that you have to remember in advance so you can’t just start having sex and then take the pill, it won’t work. You have to take it about 30 minutes so that there’s no risk of it not working. So, it doesn’t feel as natural, but if there’s no choice you have to make do. Personally I buy 4 or 8 pills every two weeks – it’s expensive but it works, so that’s what I do.
Alexander · May 17, 2017 at 8:43 pm
I agree – Viagra is a lot more expensive if you think you’ve got to go to your doctor every time you want to buy it in a pharmacy. You have to have a prescription and I perfectly understand that you can’t take this lightly. What I do to spend a bit less and to not have to visit my doctor every time is buy Viagra online. It’s not expensive and you save a lot of time.

Hello, how do you buy Viagra online? I’ve done some research and it’s not easy. There aren’t many sites that let you buy Viagra on the internet and I don’t know if I trust them to be honest. How do you know if these sites are selling genuine medication and not fakes? Also, I saw the price of medication like Viagra and it’s quite expensive. Do you have any advice? Thanks.
